Chris Wilson (a.k.a. Chris Hesitation)
Chris Wilson is a sound artist who moved to Dunedin in September 2018, after 17 years living in Wellington. He has a BSc in Microbiology, a DipGrad in Philosophy and a Master of Health Sciences in Bioethics with credit all from the University of Otago.
Wilson is from the Wellington based Electropop band Gold Medal Famous that has released six albums since 2008. He is also one half of experimental improvising electronic research music duo Selective Yellow, also from Wellington, who have been active since 2013. Chris performs solo "theatrical noise" as Chris Hesitation.
He is currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Visual Arts, majoring in sound art, supervised by Jane Venis and Michael Morley at the Dunedin School of Art. He is developing a generative drone based installation.
Chris organises "A Quiet Noise", a seasonal low volume experimental music night at RDC Cafe on George Street. He is coordinating the live performances at the Gasworks Museum on the 16th and 27th of July as part of this festival. He will be performing live as Chris Hesitation on the 16th.
